Prepare Your Dough

  • Start by combining 2 cups of all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt in a large mixing bowl. Then, cut in 1 cup of unsalted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Add Water

  • Gradually add about 1/2 cup of cold water, mixing until the dough just comes together.

Chill the Dough

  • Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate it for at least 30 minutes.

Lamination Technique

  • Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle. Fold it into thirds, like a letter. Repeat this rolling and folding process two more times, chilling the dough for 20 minutes between each fold.

Roll Out Again

  • After your final chill, roll the dough out to about 1/4 inch thick.

Add Your Filling

  • Place your chosen filling in the center of each pastry shape.

Seal and Egg Wash

  • Fold the pastry over the filling and pinch the edges to seal. Brush the tops with an egg wash.

Bake

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes.

Cool and Serve

  • Allow your puff pastry dessert to cool slightly before serving.
